GREINPLAST TNB

Nano-silicone plaster

A thin-layer, nano-silicone, dashed, self-cleaning and breathable plaster. It is a plaster resistant to weather conditions, guarantees the highest durability of the coating and colour. Features the Greinplast Microfilm Bio Protect system, which prevents algae and fungi growth. It is used for manual application of external plaster coatings. Can be applied on all typical mineral bases such as concrete, cement, cement-lime plasters and as a plaster coating on layers with mesh reinforcement in GREINPLAST insulation systems. The surfaces to which the plaster is to be applied must be primed with GREINPLAST XP primer in a colour matching the colour of the plaster. It is an integral element of product ranges in GREINPLAST EPS insulation system with thin-layer GREINPLAST TNB plaster (according to the appropriate AT) and EPS-ETA and MW (according to ETA). The product available in colours that can be found in the manufacturer’s colour scheme.  Upon the customer’s request, other colour schemes are available, provided by Greinplast Tinting System (SBG).

Surface preparation: the surface needs to be bearing, compact, dry and free of dust, dirt, salt efflorescences, organic residue (oils, fats, etc.), and other substances that hinder adhesion. Any algae and fungi must be removed. Non-homogenous mineral surfaces, or those of an increased absorbing capacity, are to be grounded with adequately diluted GREINPLAST U preparation with a 30 % addition of GREINPLAST FNX paint. Surfaces that are to be covered with plaster, need to be primed with GREINPLAST XP primer which colour must match the colour of the plaster (detailed information in the data sheet of the primer). In the case of capillary action, an anti-dampness insulation should be provided. Specific information concerning preparation of the surface and its type, can be found in the Product Data Sheet. Preparing the plaster: Before commencing the application, the mass need to be thoroughly mixed with a slow-speed stirrer, depending on the surface type and the conditions for the application (temperature, air humidity, surface absorptivity, etc.) The manufacturer allows for an addition of GREINPLAST UX preparation (no more than 0,20 l per packaging). In order to avoid discolorations and uneven structure of the plaster, the amount of the preparation added should be the same for each packaging. The application: The actual plastering works may only be commenced after the surface has been properly prepared and has fully dried. The plaster is applied up to the grain thickness with the use of a tilted stainless steel trowel. Any excess material is to be collected into the packaging. The texturing can be commenced after a certain period of time, when the mass does not stick to the tools anymore and is formable at the same time. This time depends on the type of the surface and the weather conditions during the application. The desired texture is obtained with the use of a plastic trowel, which needs to be driven with repeated, circular movements through the surface being textured. Creating spots with unevenly disposed mass (abrasions, overhangs, agglutinations, etc) must be avoided, as it won't be possible to remove these defects after the plaster has dried. The stopping of works should be planned beforehand in spots where such a connection will not be well noticeable (dilatations, gutters, architectonic fragments etc). In order to obtain a unitary structure and colour of the plaster, the works on a wall that forms a single plane should be conducted in a continuous manner, without any interruptions, and the material being used should come from one production batch.

Recommendations and remarks

The surface and ambient temperature during the application and the drying of the plaster should be between +5°C and +30°C. The optimal temperature during the application: +20°C. The plaster should not be applied in strong wind, during direct insolation, rainfall, without the use of safety devices (nets, canvas covers). These conditions are to be held for at least 3 days after the application. In this period of time, the temperature must not fall below +5°C. The drying time of the plaster might also be subject to significant changes in adverse weather conditions, hence the period of using safety devices should be extended until it has fully dried. Ignoring the above guidelines or an improper preparation of the surface may lead to deterioration of durability of the paint, and even to its loosening. The product contains mineral fillers which can cause plaster from different production batches to differ in shade. That is why it is recommended that the material on a given surface should come from one production batch. Due to different product bases (A, B, C) and the amount of pigments in particular plaster colours, they might vary in thickness and consistency. The surfaces at risk of being stained by plaster, are to be secured, and in case of a stain, they are to be cleaned before the paint dries. Tools are to be washed under water directly after the works have been finished. This information aims to provide an optimal use of the product, is not however a basis for any legal responsibility of the Manufacturer, as the conditions of use remain beyond the Manufacturer's control. The works are to be performed in accordance with good construction practices. In the case of coming in contact with products of other Manufacturers or products that have not been specified in the referral documents, we are not to be held responsible.
